Vaughan Henkel
Vaughan has spent the last nine years working in the equity research teams for three international banks (UBS, JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank), with two years as Head of Research for JP Morgan, followed by a consulting Telkom and Media analyst role at Deutsche Bank. During this period he covered the Telecommunications sector in the SA market, which comprises both wireline and mobile operators. Additionally he has also covered the Eastern European operators in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. The key responsibilities of this position include the Macro, market and business analysis of these entities, the financial and valuation modeling of the firms culminating in a recommendation to purchase or sell the respective stocks. During this period Vaughan was rated for 5 years in a row by the Financial Mail (pre-eminent SA investment publication which is the rating benchmark) with four of those years being in the Top 3 position (3, 1, 2, and 2). He was also rated by Institutional Investor magazine (representative of international investor’s perceptions) for SA Telecoms research. He has written numerous research reports, which are freely available via research houses. A particular highpoint was the involvement in the listing of the South African Wireline operator, Telkom in January 2003. He has been consulting for the past 18 months during which time he undertook risk management, portfolio analysis, option pricing, return analysis and various business valuation projects. Prior to this research experience Vaughan was involved in various roles within the Telecommunications sector in South Africa for 8 years. Previous employers included Telkom, TMSA and Alcatel Altech Telecoms. His qualifications include a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Management certificate from the Wits Business School. Vaughan is also a CFA charter holder.

Peter Takaendesa
Peter holds the following qualifications: B Comm (management and law), B Comm honours (Economics), M Comm (Economics), M Comm (Financial Markets). He has written the following exams: SAIFM RPE (Equity, Bond, Money, Forex and Derivatives), JSE (Equity Trader, Commodities, Settlement), CFA level II candidate. His work experience includes: Accounts Clerk (GCC) - 1998/9, Lecturer in Financial Economics (UFH) - 2005/6, Graduate Trainee (CSSS), trained in SA and London - 2007, Junior equity research analyst - 2007/8.
He has published three peer reviewed articles in leading South African and African academic journals - in Exchange rates, Trade and Finance
